This is a two-year program leading to the Master of Science degree or a post-Masters certificate, with dual specialization as a CNM and WHNP.
Women's health nurse-practitioners and certified nurse-midwives provide primary care to women throughout the lifespan in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including hospitals, clinics, homes, and birth centers. They provide maternity care from a core belief that birth is not a medical event, but a normal physiologic process that is best managed with evidence-based supportive care practices and the judicious use of technological and obstetric interventions when medically indicated.
