The Green Initiative Fund will establish a fund to finance student-led initiatives that improve sustainability and social equity at SF State, as well as create paid internships for students.
The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) campaign is alive and kicking at San Francisco State University! Our purpose is to raise standards for sustainability, health, and social equity at SFSU by establishing a fund that will support a more engaged campus community through student initiatives and the creation of paid student positions. This initiative is by the students, for the students, and it will continue to benefit students who come after us. Let's get TGIF on the ballot and pass it!
*Who are we?
SFSU students like you who care about the environment and the community.
*How does it work?
You have a great idea to improve sustainability on campus: upgrade outdated lighting systems to more efficient ones; start a community garden; host a speaker or discussion; analyze carbon emissions from student housing; get more compost bins around campus, etc. You submit a well-thought out proposal, an overseeing committee approves it, and we give you the money to make it happen!
TGIF will also create paid internships pertaining to sustainability issues which all students can apply for.
