Brigades are defined as groups of passionate volunteers who mobilize towards positive social change. Global Brigades is the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. The purpose of Global Brigades is to bring college students to a humbling environment and facilitate sustainable solutions while in country. Additionally, we aim to educated them on how much effort it takes to put a brigade together and how to fundraise. Our goal is to provide a great experience for pre-medical, pre-dental, and public health students an opportunity to get involved with networking, third-world issues, and volunteer work. Students will have an immerse experience while preparing for and during the trip. Hands-on experiences include setting up a temporary clinic and staffing it in multiple areas (triage, medical/dental shadowing, pharmacy), as well as preventative healthcare projects and door-to-door conversations with community members.
