Fossil Free SFSU is a campus wide divestment campaign that aims to remove our school's current investments from the fossil fuel industry.
We are an extension of a global divestment movement to combat climate change but function as a grassroots organization here on campus. Our students have presented a resolution to ASI, University Affairs, the Dean of Students, and a variety of other administrative bodies to gain support and approval for this cause. Our presentations explain the dangers of the fossil fuel industry and their direct contribution to global climate change, while at the same time connecting the language used in our investment policy of “socially responsible investments” to prove that our cause is important on multiple levels.
