Join our UCSF EMIG on Jan 17th 2015 for a day-long symposium on topics related to Emergency Medicine and Global Health.

This year's symposium will feature EM Everywhere - from the county hospital and streets of Oakland to the front lines of the Ebola epidemic to the first emergency medicine residency program in Tanzania. In addition we will have hands-on, small group workshops led by residents to teach suturing, incision & drainage, casting/splinting, airway management, toxicology, central venous access, and more.

There will also be an interdisciplinary informational panel on careers in EM featuring doctors from various clinical settings, Mitch Erickson NP (UCSF), and Zlatan Coralic, PharmD (UCSF), as well as a chance to meet all the NorCal emergency medicine residency program directors (UCSF/SFGH, UC Davis, Stanford, Highland, UCSF Fresno, and Kaweah Delta).

Our keynote address will take place at 4:30pm in Milberry Union:
Teri Reynolds, MD, MS, PhD (UCSF / Muhimbili National Hospital) - GHS Masters Alum!

Other speakers include Andrew Herring, MD (Highland / Street Level Health Project); Steven Bin, MD (UCSF Pediatric Emergency Medicine); Justin LeMieux, MD (Stanford / Mercy Air Life Flight); George Rutherford, MD (UCSF Ebola Response Task Force)

This event will be a great opportunity to learn more about emergency medicine both at home and abroad. Come meet other students from all over Northern California interested in EM and network with residents, physicians, and other health professionals.

Breakfast, lunch, conference goodies, and happy hour networking are all included in the price of admission.
